Welcome to That Robot Guy!
Want to build your own robot bartender? A self-playing piano? How about a robot to stir your food and add the perfect spice mix every time?
I'm Martin Slade and I create robots using a 3D printer and cheap, easily-available components. I use a combination of these robots to automate tasks and I create videos of these projects.
The aim of the videos and this site is to give you ideas for building your own projects and to show you how I work through projects to try help make robotics easier to understand. On this site you will find each project with build instructions, downloads, CAD files, code, electrical diagrams and a parts list with links to purchase all of the components I've used through affiliated links with Amazon and other sites.
All of the designs on this site are completely free and in the public domain (this does not apply to my videos or images). This is to allow you to use any of the designs for your own projects or even startups without worrying about copyright problems. If you do find the designs useful, please consider donating via patreon below.
There are also a collection of games I've made to demonstrate different uses for using smartphones as controllers using the AirConsole gaming platform. These are free to play and were made using Powerpoint, notepad++ and paint. I plan to create a series of videos soon on coding projects to show you how to create games, software and automate your work using common software like Excel, Powerpoint, Paint, Notepad etc. These will focus on tricks I've learnt, show you how I approach difficult projects and how I learn different skills through projects.
Check out the projects, robots and games on the tabs at the top of the page.
